The Englewood -Cape Haze area stretches from South Venice, in Sarasota County, along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, in Charlotte County, to Boca Grande, then back North to the west side of the Myakka River in Port Charlotte, and then South again to the end of North Port. Included in our area is Englewood, Old Englewood, all the Rotonda sections, Placida, Cape Haze, Boca Grande, Gulf Cove, South Gulf Cove, North Port, Port Charlotte, Grove City, and Venice. As you can see, this is quite a diverse area! Our land area has approximately 60,000 platted lots, with an estimated 46,000 yearly residences. We have over 11 miles of Gulf of Mexico frontage, with 4 beautifully maintained public beaches, and more then 70 miles of waterways for boating and fishing. Having several large areas designated as preserve land, the wild life is beautiful and plentiful. To see a large turtle, eagles, blue heron or even an otter or two would not be an uncommon site. The birds are colorful as well as friendly. Holding a peanut in your hand to feed a scrub-jay while another sits on your shoulder is quite an experience! Looking for something scenic? Try one of our many hiking trails that run thru a preserve or state park. Or perhaps you’d rather bike ride on the miles of bike paths that run through the area. What ever your interest is, whether it’s fishing in the Gulf or playing golf on a different course every day of the week, we have it here for you to enjoy. Fishing
Our 70 miles of waterways for boating and fishing is what some consider a “fisherman’s paradise”. Try your luck off one of the many fishing piers, beautiful beaches or perhaps from your own dock at your new home. Need something more adventurous? Enter one of the big fishing tournaments shown on ESPN or OLN. The Red Fish or Tarpon tournaments are some of the biggest events here on the Cape Haze Peninsula.
Boating
The Lemon Bay inter coastal waterway is deep and stretches wide down our west coast line to Boca Grande. Heading past Boca Grande, you can ride up into Charlotte Harbor and the Myakka River. The traffic is lighter here in comparison to Sarasota, Venice and Fort Myers.
Golfing The area is thriving with golf enthusiasts playing on our more than 16 courses, including Riverwood, a 4 & 1/2 star rated PGA course. There are courses for everyone from the beginner to Pro. Most courses are nestled in quiet surroundings allowing for a more relaxed game to be played. Vacation Rentals Seasonal rentals are a big part of our economy. Europeans make up almost 20% of our rental market. Most homes receive between $900 to $1,150 per week income and average 22 to 28 weeks per year occupancy. We consider this community an excellent place to reside and would love to share with you our enthusiasm for the many neighborhoods that encompass it. We pride ourselves on providing unparalleled service and look forward to developing a long-term relationship with you. Our customers become our friends and neighbors. Please feel free to contact us if you would like to discuss how We can best assist you with your real estate needs. Sincerely, The Marty Remillard Team |
